Françoise Piguet

Dr. Françoise PIGUET (Ph.D.) is a researcher in INSERM U1127 (Paris Brain Institute, team Neurogencell) on development of gene therapy approaches for neurodegenerative diseases (Huntington, Rett, SCA, ALS, Leukodystrophy and mucopolysaccharidosis). Dr Piguet obtained her PhD in the University of Paris V. Since 2006, she contributed to the field of neurodegenerative diseases and development of gene therapy approaches based on the use of AAV first on metachromatic leukodystrophy, Huntington and Friedreich Ataxia. She previously develop a clinical trial on metachromatic leukodystrophy and 3 patents for gene therapy approaches for Friedreich Ataxia, ALS and Rett syndromes. She also used AAV and viral vectors to generate mouse models of Human diseases. Françoise is also consultant for AskBio to develop a gene therapy approach for Huntington disease.
