Daniela Cesana
Telethon
Daniela Cesana is currently Project Leader at San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy in the Safety and Insertional Mutagenesis unit. She started her career in 2003 establishing a preclinical mouse model that revealed and dissected the mechanisms of genotoxicity of integrating vectors. She also found that, like other retroviruses, HIV-1 takes advantage of insertional mutagenesis to favor its persistence in the host. More recently, she developed technologies allowing the retrieval of integration sites from cell-free DNA and providing insights into AAV biology.
