Dimitri Kullmann

Dimitri Kullmann studied medicine and physiology at Oxford and London Universities and undertook postdoctoral work in San Francisco. He qualified as a clinical neurologist at the National Hospital Queen Square, London, where he continues to see patients. His laboratory studies fundamental mechanisms of synaptic transmission and plasticity in the mammalian brain, neurological channelopathies and the mechanisms of seizures and other paroxysmal neurological disorders. He has developed several candidate gene therapies for pharmacoresistant focal epilepsy, and is working to bring some to the clinic. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Academy of Medical Sciences and was the Editor-in-Chief of the neurology journal 'Brain' between 2014 and 2020.
