Universität Spital Zürich
I am an Assistant Professor of Cancer Immunotherapy and Cell Engineering at the
University of Zurich. My research aims at advancing cancer immunotherapy through non-viral engineering of next-generation CAR T cells. I trained in basic immunology and gene therapy at SR- TIGET and have experience in the development and translation of CAR T-cell therapies for investigator-initiated clinical trials. Among my major achievements, I have elucidated novel mechanisms of immune regulation and led one of the first studies of non-viral CAR T cells using Sleeping Beauty transposon worldwide. Currently, my research program is focused on providing solutions to some relevant challenges in the field, including manufacturing optimization, disease resistance and hostile microenvironment.
