Astrid Pechmann

PD Dr. Astrid Pechmann is child neurologist and works as senior physician at the Department for Neuropediatrics and Muscle Disorders of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, Germany. Her main interest is clinical research in neuromuscular diseases and other rare diseases. She has been principal investigator for numerous clinical trials in spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Together with Prof. Kirschner, she has recently established the SMArtCARE database as disease specific registry to collect long-term observational data for patients with spinal muscular atrophy.
