Tomoki Todo

Tomoki Todo, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Innovative Cancer Therapy at the Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo (IMSUT), and Hospital Director and Head of Department of Surgical Neuro-Oncology of the IMSUT Hospital. He is a neurosurgeon and one of the pioneers of oncolytic virus therapy. He developed a third-generation oncolytic HSV-1 (G47∆) that received a drug approval in Japan as the world’s first oncolytic virus product for malignant glioma.
